How I Became a Let's Player
My name is Jesse Shearer and I was born in New Jersey on June 14th 1993. I was first introduced to video games around the age of 6 when my sister received her NES. In the end I ended up using it way more than she ever did. Outside of going to school, scouting, and other sport related activities, all I did was play video games. Funny enough, I developed a strong set of skills when it came to playing video games (not including button mashing). I enjoyed helping out my childhoods friends and even my family a little bit get through games that I had beaten. That has always stuck with me. I enjoy being able to help others get through a game they are struggling with.

I first learned about making video game walkthroughs around 2008 when I discovered a walkthrough made by grievousrocks for the game Metroid Prime on YouTube. That became the outlet to discovering other channels and Let's Playing. It wasn't until 2012 though that I had firmly decided that I would give making Let's Plays a try.

Other Background Information
Sports and Scouting
I started out with dancing, then moved to gymnastics, then finally stuck with karate, all the while playing recreational soccer on the side. That combined with scouting activities made for a very healthy upbringing, considering the rest of my time was devoted to video games. My time spent has been well rewarded as I have earned:
-
The rank of Eagle Scout
-
The rank of 3rd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do
-
The Max award in soccer for showing more effort than any other player on the team (Although it doesn't sound as nice saying it that way)

Education
Originally graduated from Ramsey High School with highest honors. Graduated from Bergen Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Game Programing. Later graduated from Union County College with an Associates Degree in Health Science and a Physical Therapy Assistant Degree.
Other Hobbies
I watch lots of YouTube videos and have gained a large interest in anime. I go with my family every year to Balkan Camp, which is a folk dance and music camp. I mostly play doumbek (a type of drum) at camp. For a while I played with a band currently called YAMMS, which played regularly at Golden Fest each year.
